JOIN MESSAGE ISSUED BY THE UKRAINIAN CHURCHES AND ASSOCIATION OF UKRAINIANS IN GREAT BRITAIN

27.03.20

The Ukrainian Catholic and Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Churches have today issued a Message jointly with the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain.

In a show of unity in thought and deed, they call on all parishioners and members of the Ukrainian community to heed all advice and guidelines on preventing the spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19.

The pandemic has had a great impact on the activities of both Churches and the community, and the unprecedented steps that have already been taken to date are set to remain in force right through to the Easter period and beyond.

The signatories of the Message call on everyone to assist those who may have greater needs, particularly the elderly and most vulnerable, or those feeling fearful, lonely, or in isolation:  “We must all pull together, heed government advice, adapt and assist each other as much as possible. Together, by preventing the spread of the coronavirus, and caring for ourselves and each other, we will help to save people’s lives”.

The Message is available here in English and in Ukrainian.
