LETTERS TO ELDERLY UKRAINIANS NATIONWIDE ON DEALING WITH THE CORONAVIRUS

Over the past few days the AUGB has been sending out letters in the Ukrainian language to elderly members of our community nationwide who have no family and who might be confused by what is currently going in relation to the coronavirus.

We are also trying to include any elderly members of our community that might have family members who have found it difficult to explain the coronavirus situation in Ukrainian.

The letter will hopefully provide them with some reassurance, but also with current information (for example, it includes detailed reference to the Prime Minister’s announcement of Monday night) and practical guidelines which are in keeping with the advice provided by the Government on dealing with the coronavirus.

It also provides them with a telephone contact at their nearest AUGB Branch as a source of support to try and help them get through any difficulties that they may be having, provide them with additional information and, if necessary, provide them with help with their weekly shopping, medication, or even ensuring that they receive medical assistance if they need it and are finding it difficult to get through to 111.

If you know of anyone that has not received or would appreciate receiving such a letter, please contact your nearest AUGB Branch.
