LATEST AUGB BOARD MEETING...

During its latest meeting held yesterday, the AUGB’s Board of Directors approved plans for the re-development of AUGB’s Head Office at 49 Linden Gardens. Details will be conveyed to Branch Chairs during a meeting which is to be held on 4 September.

The Board also ratified the date and venue for the 75th AUGB AGM:  6 June 2020 at AUGB Huddersfield Branch.

In other matters:

The new draft Branch rulebook was approved by the Board in principle, with some amendments still needing to be inserted.  It will be sent to Branches on 5 September and then presented during a separate Branch Chair video conference meeting on Wednesday 18 September.

The new database system has gone live. Two Branches, Coventry and Edinburgh, were randomly selected to trial the system and are to report back on any problems/issue that need to be addressed before it is rolled out to all Branches.

Further to the adoption of two resolutions during the 74 AUGB AGM, the Board appointed:

a)         A sub-committee tasked to work with the AUGB’s Mediation and Disputes Committee to prepare a draft Mediation and Disputes Committee Rulebook/Terms of Reference and to present this to the Board by 31 December 2019 for approval at the 75 AUGB AGM. Chair: F Kurlak, members: L. Allison, P. Rewko.

b)         A sub-committee tasked to review and clarify current (and possible changes to) membership subscription categories, including the possibility of introducing family membership, and to report back with its recommendations to the Board and then the 75 AUGB AGM. Chair: B. Terlecky, members: L. Allison, P. Luczka.

c)         A Nominations Committee to report back to the Board by February 2020. Chair: I. Kaniuka, members: T. Klymenko, V. Muzyczka, B. Terlecky.
