TWO MORE HOLODOMOR MEMORIALS UNVEILED

25.11.18

Two new Holodomor memorials were opened earlier today in the Midlands - both in the grounds of the local Ukrainian Catholic Church.

The first, in Leicester, was attended by the Embassy of Ukraine’s Minister-Councillor, Andriy Marchenko, and the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain’s Deputy Chair, Iryna Terlecky, who laid wreaths and addressed participants. The memorial text reads: "In memory of the millions of Ukrainians who died as a result of the Holodomor, the Soviet Russian man-made famine and genocide in Ukraine 1932-33".

The second memorial was opened and blessed in Coventry by the Rev. Alexandr Lisovsky.
