Friends of Ukraine (Scottish Foundation) are delighted to announce that the writer and actor Matthew Zajac will introduce a screening of his award winning play 'The Tailor of Inverness' at the Ukrainian Centre, 14 Royal Terrace, on Friday 5th March 2010 at 7pm.
The play is about Matthews' father's complex journey from a village, in what is now western Ukraine, during and after the War, to eventually end up in Scotland in Inverness. The play has toured the world; from it's award winning debut at the Edinburgh Festival in 2008, it has been around the UK, Sweden, Eastern Europe and Australia where it has received glowing reports and has won numerous awards, including a best solo performer award for Zajac himself. The play will tour Ukraine later this year.
Many members of the Ukrainian community have had the pleasure of seeing this play and highly recommend it to all. Matthew will introduce the screening of the play and at the conclusion will take part in a discussion and question/answer session.
This is likely to be a sell-out, so please contact either Stef Tymkewycz stef.tymkewycz@snp.org or any committee member of Friends of Ukraine for tickets. All proceeds from this event will be split between Friends of Ukraine charitable work in Ukraine and the play's tour of Ukraine.
